In 2016 I studied Fine Art at Marmara University in Istanbul. Living and working there as an Erasmus student was inspiring. It allowed me to push my artist journey forward. The wonderful blend of western and eastern culture made it the perfect location to take my work into a more contemporary context.  I also gained a valuable understanding of networking within international communities. This was the driving motivation for my degree show in Newcastle and London, while showing me how diversity and variety can have such an impact on ones’ practice.

I drew ideas from ‘Queer Documentary Photography’ which explores the boundaries between public and private spaces and the female ownership of these. This opened up the opportunity to use painting as elements of staged photographs in different environments of Istanbul.
